Happy Birthday Rebbas

Ah, 7 years ago in a land called Lubbock, a whiny black little lab was brought into this world with her 9 other brothers and sisters. 9 weeks later, we met 2 little black lab females, one with an orange string they called Pumpkin and another with a blue string, they called Independence. It was on this day, that 2 humans fell in love with Pumpkin and her rolly polly puppy belly; she came to be called Rebel, a truly fitting name.

Rebel, you hated the leash, we tried every gadget out there, the harness, choker, pincher, gentle leader, etc.; to keep you from pulling and 7 years later, you still pull to your heart's content. You learned to ring bells to go potty as well as to ring the bells to go outside and play, luckily we broke you of that. 6 months after you came home, we brought you home a sister, Bailey. Bailey was soft hearted and gentle, the complete opposite of you baby girl, but you loved each other anyways. 1.5 years later when Bailey had health problems and passed away, you kept mom and dad company even though you had lost your best friend also. So enter Texas. Ah the male, you taught him to squat and pee like a girl while also teaching him how to cuddle.

You endured several moves and long drives to see the puppy grandparents and their cement pond, kept mom company when dad was gone for 3 months, you handled an intensive surgery to fix your now million dollar leg, and you lost 25lbs even though you made it seem like we starved you. You enjoy your life of leisure, annoying Texas when he needs it, annoying me when you feel like we should butt heads, and loving on dad, because well, he's always been your favorite. Rebel you keep us on our toes with your stubbornness and constant plans to take over the world, but we wouldn't trade you for anything, even though mom keeps telling otherwise. Now, two new additions are coming into all of our lives that will greatly change things, but I know you will adapt and love you new siblings as much as you love Texas. Happy birthday baby girl.
