Well Jake does.
Due to his lack of speech, the doctor has decided its time to refer him out to a speech and hearing center to determine where the problem is.
He understands directions "use your spoon" "pick up your legos", but he just doesn't talk. We should hopefully have an appointment set up this next week.
He does not have the 15 words the doctor says is minimum and everything is "huh" while he points. What words he does use, "ma-ma" are few and far between some days its all he says, then he goes days with nothing.
So hopefully we will have some answers soon and will see some improvement. Is it related to his pre-maturity and the month he spent on oxygen? Who knows. It could be, he passed his newborn hearing screen without a problem and has never shown any sign of hearing loss.
And of course while this was going on, Addy was carrying on a conversation with the Hippo exam table the whole time the doctor was in there. No problem with her speech.

I'm sure it'll work wonders for him!
Maybe just being apart from Addy would push him to talk more, I have the feeling Ella won't be able to get a word in edge wise with her big sister around.
