They asked the cashier if the person was still there so they could go thank them and she said that she didn't know anything. The guys enjoyed lunch out instead of their brown paper sacks. There was 5 dollars left on it so they gave it to one the other guys that wasn't there and when he went to get a coffee from them, the manager didn't charge him for it. Maybe the manager?
Andy's response when someone thanks him is to respond with "don't thank me, I volunteered for this" so I think it kind of threw him a little.
So to the stranger that bought that gift card, you have the thanks from the soldiers on the receiving end.
